At this year’s Voodoo Music Experience, located in New Orleans, we experienced three madcap days of outdoor art and music. With dancing elves, clowns, Kiss fans and zombies gathering en masse over Halloween weekend. The weekend kicked off with an afterparty at the Howlin’ Wolf on Thursday night sponsored by VTech with performances by DJ Soul Sister, Jay Electronica, The Knux and Biz Markie.
Here’s a behind the scenes look at The Knux. More videos soon to come.

On Friday, torrential rains drenched spectators creating a muddy bog, but spectators danced the night away to French DJ duo Justice and faced the cold and wet weather to see Eminem in his first full live performance in five years. Saturday saw a change in weather and music from local musicians Irvin Mayfield and Leon “Chocolate” Brown, while Gogol Bordello caused a frantic dance party. Halloween drew thousands of costumed spectators for Jane’s Addiction and Kiss. And a bid to break the Guinness record for largest zombie gathering (4,026) fell way short (1,701). And Sunday, the festival ended with perfect weather and performances by Widespread Panic, Lenny Kravitz, and more.
Another great year at the Voodoo Music Experience.
