Once in a while, VTech finds itself collaborating with a special group of musicians, singers, and DJs. In the past we’ve worked with such greats as Mulatu Astatke, Quantic, Arthur Verocai, DJ Nuts, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, and more.

This time around, it’s somewhat of a family affair. VTech will be releasing exclusive new material from Dudley Perkins and Georgia Anne Muldrow’s project which features a compilation of up and coming artists on the label “Someothaship Connect.” Most of the artists are self-produced, with Georgia at the helm producing the beats and Dudley MCing some of the songs.

With the first download, “Perfect (Git a Taste),” Dudley and Georgia do what they do best, making music you can’t help but listen to over and over again.

Download and turn it up. And don’t worry, there’s plenty more where that came from.

Untitled/Fantastic Remixed: Georgia Anne Muldrow featuring Nokware.

Remixing Suite for Ma Dukes is a brave undertaking. Several producers and MCs at first accepted and then declined the job. In the end we think we got the right person. It is with great pleasure on the week of Mothers Day to release this remix. Done while mothering by none other than Georgia Ann Muldrow. This project began as an homage to one mothers love (Ma Dukes) and has now been remixed by another (Georgia) with her son Nokware in her lap. Two incredible women, one amazing track. Remixed.

Georgia who has done production for Erykah Badu, Mos Def and partner Dudley Perkins was an amazing person to watch at work. Her feel is so hers. She seemed so comfortable with the music. She insisted that she didn’t want to chop the song but to play along as if she was there in the Orchestra. We wanted her to sing on the track too but her microphone was in the shop for repairs – so on my suggestion she sang the vocals into the lavalier tie clip mic that we used to capture sound for the video.

This remix and the two others we have released here: Te’Amir and Jneiro will be available on a Timeless Remixed EP this Summer.

Download the Exclusive New Track From Roc ‘C’

Fans of West Coast underground hip-hop know Roc ‘C’ for his debut mic appearance on Oh No’s single “Move Pt. 2,” produced by J Dilla. An MC from the prolific Oxnard, CA crew (Lootpack, Dudley Perkins, Oh No, M.E.D.) His first single, “Don’t Stop,” an Oh No-produced slab of infectious trunk funk – was featured on EA Sports’ Fight Night Round 3 video game.

New from Roc ‘C’ is an exclusive download for our VTech music fans. The One U Luv is a track that’s off his upcoming Roc ‘C’ solo project “Round 2″. It was produced and features Mr. Porter (Platinum Prod.)
